What does the job involve?

You provide and monitor the technical side of our fleet, consisting of wagons and locomotives. What does the job involve? The traffic coordinator has a central position between the Customers, Terminals, Rail Traffic Control Centers , Operations department, and the locomotive drivers. Your task is to create efficient locomotive circulation schedules, cost-effective train crew shifts and an optimal train-path-fit in compliance with the relevant safety regulations to guarantee customer satisfaction.

What are the tasks?

" Schedule transport orders, wagons, locomotives and train staffing " Calculate and transfer requests into a concrete railway product " Monitor our customers business, analyze, propose and implement cost and production improvements " Set-up new train production- and operation concepts and integrate these in the production " Manage and maintain relationships with key stakeholders " Advocate and maintain a strong commitment to safety in the operating process " Responsible for timely and cost efficient movement of trains carrying (hazardous) cargo " Monitor and update drivers' progress throughout the shift and update our planning and quality systems by actualizing the whereabouts of our assets and staff.

" The job is complex. It consists of 3 levels:

  1. Forecasting and planning coordination
  2. Contract management, calculation, pricing, invoicing, analysis and quality improvement
  3. Quality and Safety control on all production processes including technical control on our locomotives and wagons.
